If Shit Had Wings

Thursday, January 7, 2010

If shit had wings then its soar would be the habitual lies we tell ourselves in an attempt to convince others of what we want to be. Yet is it not a curious notion that upon pursuing our fabled testaments we are often left amazed when our fellow man concurs that which we have thought ourselves of lying about was indeed the fibre of our pursued thread. If you will that blooming of the enlightened persona when in growth we become that which we have dreamed about. Thus in contemplation and with a need to deliberately summon GOOFY who said honesty is the best policy I would clarify an appendices to that most famous aphorism, that being that honesty is relative and the only policy we need to pursue is that which makes us feel invisible be it though that it may contradict a moral predisposition adhered to an outdated ranking of correctness. For fruitful is the path of hedonistic indulgence and with a pleasured smile and senses satisfied let my followed perspective be…I have grown by elation!.

About Mixtape

Mixtape is a blog run (loosely) by Linda Stupart as a manifestation of a project in which she collaborates with a large group of smart, interesting, wonderful cultural producers. As such, Mixtape documents these collaborations. More than that, though, the blog serves as a space for each member of the project to post whatever they like: Tell us what they’re making, thinking, doing or, even, feeling. The blog also forms a space for Linda, a Cape Town based critic, artist, feminist, WWE fan and cultural commentator, to post her writing.
