Is evolution individualism or individuality
Sunday, January 10, 2010
In an age of knowing there seems to persist the trend whereby the act of acquiring knowledge and its technological gimmicks and paraphernalia takes prevalence over the dialectic of a questioning. Thus the attempt of wanting to know as fused through the popular visual and cultural database of music, video, television and internet has become a platform of filtering the consciousness of the masses. We are left despite all the available information a need of questioning often in pronounced exclamation ...i just want to know. Why thus should a need of self fulfillment be a lacking commodity pursued by the entity that needs the conformed desirability of its host. Are we more conformed to a social platform disguised within an age of pseudo facts and psuedo knowledge.Has the intellectual character of the individual been replaced by a shell of marketable trends bestowed to occupy in mannequin persona the logic of individuality.Has the age of reasoning been lost with Romanticism?
Has reasoning become the logic of a collective already distilled in character and expectation by a consumer trend all marketable and unified.Perhaps this could be a stage of evolution where all individuality are substituted for collective individualism. This surely would come in handy when we indulge in space travel with all bearing the same attire unified in bright silver space suits each an ambassador of earth to the galactic sphere...Is this good?

What up Dave, Good Point.
But, could you not argue also that what perhaps the reason that "there seems to persist the trend whereby the act of acquiring knowledge and its technological gimmicks and paraphernalia takes prevalence over the dialectic of a questioning." with regards to the taste of the individualbost amongst the collective and against it., can be traced to what can either be viewed as an intensly formal sylization of academic discourse or else a failure of academixc discourse to keep up with modern academic discourse to keep up with recent linguistic enoltions in the shape of slangs and pidgins that are generated in the innumerous integrating cultures and societies on the globe (Afrikaans being a lovely example but one far better accepted than most others in this field, has been active in the alienation of people from the ideas of the collective aaand obscuring the possibility of "a stage of evolution where all individualities are substituted for collective individualism." please discuss if u so choose. Hi James...you raise an interesting point with regards to linguistics.i would go further to emphasize that this integration of cultures goes beyond the cross pollination of language but where in fact language or the manipulation of its dialect are assimilated as a sort of agent of apparent identification.in essence where key linguistic or cultural and societal markers are utilized as to bestow agency to a particular phrase or to extrapolate an intended effect or meaning.in affect one could be sympathetic with regards to your observation.."(Afrikaans being a lovely example but one far better accepted than most others in this field, has been active in the alienation of people from the ideas of the collective and obscuring the possibility of "a stage of evolution where all individualities are substituted for collective individualism." whereby once these assimilated cultural norms are integrated they are often left exercised beyond the confines of there origin.thus that which may have been created out of cultural practices are exercised within the confines of specific societal structures more often then not those that are stylized.perhaps these practices that are seemingly driven by the need of collective adherence are in fact more academic than one would assume.???
